You will:

- Provide clear, insightful financial reporting to inform decision-making
- Act as the lead for financial compliance and self-assurance within CV Med
- Line manage and develop finance staff, building capability and resilience within the team
- Drive continuous improvement of financial processes, embedding University policies and best practice
This role sits within a collaborative departmental and divisional finance community and offers genuine scope to influence how finance supports research and clinical activity.
About you
You will bring:
- Previous experience in a finance role, preferably within higher education
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, including accruals and prepayments
- Confidence using financial systems (Oracle experience is particularly desirable) and advanced Excel skills
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, with a solutions-focused approach
- Experience supporting or supervising colleagues, with the confidence to guide and advise stakeholders
Experience within a large or complex organisation — and exposure to budgets, forecasting or research finance — would be advantageous.
