Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor (Education Focused), Faculty of Science

The University of Sydney welcomes applications for Education Focused Academics (Sydney Horizon Educators) in various academic disciplines within the Faculty of Science. These are full-time and part-time continuing positions with a base salary of Level C/D AU$156,103 to AU$207,069 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

About the opportunity: Successful candidates will join the Sydney Horizon Educators cohort, focusing on teaching and learning innovation. They will contribute to teaching (70%), research (20%), and governance (10%), including designing and delivering high-quality educational experiences.

Key responsibilities include leading educational innovation, curriculum design, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate units, and contributing to research in the discipline or teaching and learning.

Positions available:

• Sydney School of Veterinary Science: Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in Small Ruminant Health and Production. Requires a PhD in Veterinary Science and industry connections.
• School of History and Philosophy of Science: Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in History and Philosophy of Science. Involves teaching units like SCIE1001 and SCIE4003.
• School of Life and Environmental Sciences: Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in Animal Physiology and Industries. Focuses on teaching and coordination in animal science.

About you: Candidates should have a PhD in a relevant field, experience in teaching and assessment, and a track record in research. They must demonstrate excellence in educational practice and the ability to engage with students and stakeholders.
