Senior Lecturer in Computer Science with Focus on Software and Systems Engineering (50%)

The University of St. Gallen is strengthening its degree programs in Computer Science with a new Senior Lectureship in the field of Software and Systems Engineering. We seek an individual who will engage in teaching fundamental and advanced courses in our Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs in Computer Science. Through their teaching and research activities in this field, the successful candidate will actively contribute to the further development of the School of Computer Science and build bridges with other disciplines at our university.

The successful candidate combines enthusiasm for research-based teaching and the development of new courses to further shape the Computer Science programs at the University of St. Gallen, supported by a research track record in their field. Their teaching responsibilities include topics ranging from the design of software systems to distributed systems, including current developments in the fields of event-driven, process-oriented, and agent-oriented systems and architectures.

We are looking for a team-oriented and committed personality whose research activities offer links to other research groups at the School of Computer Science, as well as to institutes and schools across research fields represented at the University of St. Gallen. It is expected that the successful candidate will become an active member of the faculty and bring sufficient academic maturity and independence. Ideally, they already have experience collaborating with company partners and in acquiring external funding from private entities or public funding bodies.

It should also discuss the intended correspondence with the current teaching program of the School of Computer Science.

This position can potentially be combined with an additional research-oriented position (up to 50%) at the Institute or School of Computer Science of the University of St. Gallen (subject to separate arrangement), and candidates interested in such an arrangement are encouraged to contact us.
