Overview
The position focuses on procedural law with a specialization in arbitration law, including both Swedish and international arbitration. The role combines teaching, research, administration, and engagement with the wider community.
Duties
- Teach undergraduate and advanced courses (70% of annual working hours dedicated to teaching)
- Lectures, seminars, interactive courses, examinations, and supervision
- Develop, update, and administer courses and teaching materials
- Conduct research, particularly in arbitration law and Swedish procedural law
- Apply for external research funding
- Maintain awareness of developments in law and society relevant to teaching and research
Qualification Requirements
- Education: Doctoral degree in law or equivalent scientific competence
- Pedagogical Skills: Demonstrated teaching ability, including planning, supervision, and course development
- Languages: Good knowledge of Swedish and English; must be able to teach in both languages within two years
- General Suitability: Ability to collaborate and meet the overall demands of the position
Assessment Criteria
Primary Focus: Equal emphasis on scientific (research) and pedagogical (teaching) skills
Secondary Focus: Administrative skills and ability to engage with society
Research/Scientific Skills:
- Quality and scope of research, especially in arbitration law (international arbitration is highly valued)
- Experience in Swedish procedural law
- Ability to plan, initiate, lead, and develop research and education
- Track record of obtaining competitive research funding
- Engagement with the academic and wider community
Teaching/Pedagogical Skills:
- Quality of teaching and prior teaching experience
- Special emphasis on arbitration law, but teaching other procedural law subjects is valued
- Ability to link teaching to research
- Planning, leading, and developing courses
Other Merits:
- Administrative skills and experience
- Ability to plan and lead activities and staff
- Teamwork and collaboration
- Engagement with the community and communication of research
