Your New Role!
We’re seeking a Lecturer (Level B) or Senior Lecturer (Level C) in Law (Migration Law) to join the School of Law and Criminology at Murdoch University. In this role, you will contribute to teaching, research and service in a supportive, inclusive academic environment, aligned with the University’s commitment to deliver high-quality, socially responsive legal education and research.
The position specialises in Migration Law, with teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including contributions to the delivery and coordination of the School’s Graduate Diploma in Australian Migration Law and Practice.
You will design and delivery high-quality learning and assessment materials across face-to face, blended and online modes, ensure alignment with accreditation and AQF Level 7 expectations, engage in scholarship that informs teaching and curriculum, and contribute to service, academic citizenship and professional and community engagement in line with Murdoch University’s commitment to justice, equity and contemporary legal practice.

This Continuous | Full Time (37.5 hours per week) attracts a remuneration of Level B ($113,247.00 to $134,148.00) or Level C ($138,321 to $159,219.00) plus 17% employer superannuation contributions.

What you’ll bring to the role:
Holds a current Australian Legal Practising certificate with professional expertise in migration law.
Demonstrated experience teaching Migration Law at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels including effective assessment design and the provision of timely, high-quality, student-centred feedback
Capacity to develop high-quality curriculum aligned with AQF requirements (Levels 7, 8, and 9), ensuring academic rigor and relevance to professional and regulatory standards
Demonstrated engagement in research scholarship in migration law, refugee law or a related field that informs teaching, curriculum development and contributes to professional, policy or community understanding
Strong interpersonal, communication and collegial skills, with a demonstrated commitment to service, academic citizenship and alignment with Murdoch University’s values, including equity, inclusion and social justice
