Mental Health Nursing at UWE Bristol is part of the interdisciplinary School of Health and Social Wellbeing, offering undergraduate and postgraduate programmes approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council and delivered at our Glenside Campus. We're dedicated to providing high-quality teaching, excellent student experience, and impactful research that connects academic understanding to contemporary mental health practice.
This is a fantastic opportunity for motivated and experienced individuals to join our Mental Health Nursing academic team, where you'll contribute primarily to pre-registration, apprenticeship provision and CPD education.
We are particularly interested in people who have experience working in crisis services, CAMHS services, or older adult/Dementia services.
We currently have two permanent, full-time Lecturer/Senior Lecturer posts available to join the team.
You're an engaging and innovative educator, qualified to a minimum of degree level and registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. Bringing a strong commitment to teaching, learning and student support, you will inspire and engage students in their professional development, helping them build the knowledge, skills and confidence to achieve their career aspirations. Drawing on your experience of mental health practice, you will demonstrate a clear understanding of the contemporary challenges and opportunities within the profession. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential, as you will work collaboratively with colleagues to create an inclusive, supportive and stimulating learning environment where both staff and students can thrive.
This is predominantly a teaching-focused post, involving:
- Delivery and development of high-quality teaching and learning
- Academic personal tutoring and Academic Assessor
- Module leadership and curriculum development. There may also be opportunities to contribute to research and knowledge exchange activities aligned with your expertise.
