About the Opportunity

The ECU Paramedicine discipline is recognised for excellence in teaching, scholarship, and industry engagement, working in close partnership with local, national, and international health care organisations. Delivering undergraduate and postgraduate programs across Joondalup and Bunbury, supported by contemporary digital learning environments, the team is committed to producing highly capable clinicians and future health leaders through innovative higher education.

In this senior academic role, you will provide leadership in the design, delivery, and evaluation of high quality teaching, and lead the development of contemporary, evidence informed curriculum within undergraduate and/or postgraduate Paramedicine programs. You will have substantive responsibility for unit and course leadership, ensuring ongoing alignment with professional standards, accreditation requirements, and sector leading practice in learning and teaching.

Drawing on your disciplinary expertise and scholarly standing, you will demonstrate advanced digital capability to lead the design and enhancement of engaging, inclusive learning experiences across multiple delivery modes. You will contribute to the strategic direction of the discipline through mentorship of colleagues, commitment to student centred learning and academic integrity, and sustained improvement in curriculum quality. The successful candidate will play a key role in fostering a collegial, high?performing academic culture within the School and the broader University.

About you

Senior Lecturer

Registration as a Paramedic with the Paramedicine Board of Australia with no conditions 

Senior Lecturer applicants will hold a PhD, or have made substantial progress towards completion of a doctoral qualification, together with demonstrated expertise in teaching and curriculum development relevant to Paramedicine or a cognate discipline.

Proven experience in developing and maintaining effective professional partnerships, with the ability to collaborate productively with internal colleagues and relevant external stakeholders in support of teaching, learning, and curriculum outcomes.

Highly developed oral and written communication skills, with a clearly articulated and demonstrated commitment to a student centred approach to learning and teaching.

Personal and professional attributes that align with and actively model the University’s values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry, Courage, and Personal Excellence in interactions with students, colleagues, and partners.

Associate Professor

Desirable but not essential, Registration as a Paramedic with the Paramedicine Board of Australia with no conditions 

Associate Professor applicants will be required to hold a completed PhD and demonstrate commensurate experience in research, including evidence of scholarly leadership, research outputs, and contribution to the advancement of the discipline, alongside sustained excellence in teaching and academic leadership.

A strong and sustained record of building strategic professional partnerships, including leadership in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to advance discipline, course, and institutional objectives.

Exceptional oral and written communication skills, evidenced through leadership in learning and teaching, curriculum innovation, mentoring, and effective engagement with diverse academic, professional, and external audiences, underpinned by a clearly articulated student?centred learning and teaching philosophy.
