- Salary Range: $132,705 - $141,974 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)

Work that matters
The Senior Manager, Business Intelligence will lead a team of developers responsible for the design, development, and operation of the University’s business intelligence systems, overseeing small projects and continuous improvement initiatives. Reporting to the Director, Business Intelligence, you will contribute to the University’s Data and Analytics Strategy and lead relevant implementation initiatives, driving innovation in business intelligence and analytics by staying abreast of and leveraging the evolving capabilities of University platforms. You will also lead the design and development of analytic solutions that meet complex University information requirements, using Power BI and IBM Cognos Analytics on Oracle and Microsoft Fabric, in a dynamic environment characterised by diverse stakeholders, competing priorities, and challenging analytical questions.

The team
Performance Data and Insights (PDI) delivers Business Intelligence, Forecasting and Performance, and Information Governance services that enable evidence-based decision-making across the University. PDI helps the University manage its information and maximise its value through well-curated tools and datasets, self-service resources, staff portal requests, and embedded College Office partnerships.

Experience
To join our community and thrive in this role, you will likely have the following skills and experience:
- Demonstrated experience leading and managing teams, with a strong focus on professional development and performance outcomes
- High-level interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills appropriate for working with a wide range of stakeholders both within the University and externally
- Demonstrated experience supervising a team of developers working within a software development lifecycle, using tools such as Jira
- Proven experience in the administration, design and development of enterprise business intelligence and analytics systems
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and educate diverse audiences
- Extensive experience in communicating complex concepts
- Ability to work with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders using a consultative and collaborative communication style to deliver business solutions
- Extensive experience in SQL and dimensional modelling concepts to support enterprise reporting and analytics
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Power BI or IBM Cognos Analytics, including building reports and dashboards, and designing semantic models that underpin reporting and enable effective self‑service analytics for end users
