Description

The University of Houston (UH) invites applicants for a non-tenure track Research Scientist position. The principal purpose of this position is to serve as Deputy Manager for the Johnson Space Center Nutritional Biochemistry Laboratory (NBL) and provide overall scientific leadership, focus and support for medical requirement assessments, ground-based studies and operational flight studies conducted by the NBL. The NBL is a component of the Biomedical & Environmental Research Department, which implements the scientific objectives of the Johnson Space Center. The incumbent is a key member of the NBL team, which analyzes biochemical samples and implements multiple existing and new analytical methods for projects using complex laboratory instrumentation and databases to secure and archive data, complete data analyses, and to facilitate interpretation of results. This position includes tasks in data collection, analysis, evaluation, and documentation, report, publication and grant proposal development, and formal and informal presentations.

Qualifications

Doctorate degree in Nutritional Biochemistry, Nutritional Sciences, Clinical Chemistry or similar field plus 10 years of related experience.
