About The Team

College Operations provides comprehensive academic and administrative support across all disciplines within the Colleges. It is a focused, multi-skilled, and digitally capable team that delivers high-quality technical, operational, project, event, and general support services to academics and researchers. Through this work, College Operations enables Murdoch University to successfully achieve its three core activities: Education, Research, and Engagement.

Your New Role!

As part of the College Operations team supporting the College of Law, Arts and Social Sciences, the Senior Operations Officer is responsible for supporting and maintaining the Colleges’ academic operations and student experience. The Senior Operations Officer provides a thorough and effective administrative support service for research, teaching and workload functions within the Colleges. This role involves collaborating with multiple departments to enhance service delivery. The Senior Operations Officer will provide leadership, supervision, and support to the College Operations Team and serve as a delegate for the College Business Manager when needed.

Your Key responsibilities will include –

Serve as the primary point of contact for Operations Officers, ensuring clear communication and timely support

Provide expert subject‑matter guidance to strengthen operational decision‑making across the team

Lead and manage both operational and strategic projects that drive the college’s priorities forward

Foster a positive, solutions‑focused, and results‑driven culture through proactive leadership

Oversee people administration, including recruitment coordination, onboarding, timesheet processing, and staff exits.

Manage financial processes such as purchasing, reimbursements, and purchase orders.

Provide governance support for committees, including agenda preparation and meeting documentation.

Act as a key liaison between Colleges, Schools, and University departments.

Drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.

This Fixed Term (12 months with potential opportunity for extension), Full Time (37.5 hours per week) attracts a remuneration of $80,598 – $98,526 (pro rata) plus 17% employer superannuation contributions.

What You’ll bring to the role:

Completion of a diploma with subsequent relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.

Experience in academic or business operational support or office administration.

Demonstrated high level of organisational, time and workload management skills, including the ability to prioritise workload to meet strict deadlines

Experience in people leadership and development, with proven skills to motivate, inspire, and mobilise teams to foster a positive workplace culture and achieve high quality outcomes
