Job Description:

  • Employment Type: Full-Time (35-hour week)
  • Duration: Continuing
  • Remuneration: Level 7 from $110k+ 17% superannuation and leave loading
  • Location: Kensington NSW (Hybrid Flexible Working)

Why your role matters

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Officer, Student Learning, to join the Student Learning team within the Education Pillar under the Pro Vice-Chancellor Education. This vital role involves providing comprehensive project management support to the initiatives in the Academic Success and Faculty Engagement, Learning Hub,Enabling program and Equitable Learning Services teams. The work of these teams it to support academic skills development, including academic English for UNSW’s diverse student cohort; deliver UNSW’s pre-university program UniPrep supporting UNSW’s Widening Participation Strategy; and develop reasonable adjustments and support for students with disabilities.

The role also involves promoting initiatives, communications, ensuring evaluation mechanisms and frameworks, report writing, fostering key internal and external relationships, and ensuring the smooth coordination of activities.

Specific accountabilities for this role include:

  • Proactively coordinate initiatives to achieve operational and strategic goals, evaluation and reporting on the effectiveness of initiatives that support student learning.
  • Monitor progress and track to milestones and deliverables in alignment with time, cost and quality metrics, identification of risks and implementation of mitigating solutions where applicable.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of plans to improve the quality, efficacy and scalability of resources and opportunities that support learning development and academic success
  • In collaboration with team members and the Head, Student Learning, develop promotional plans for initiatives
  • Identify, collect and present data and draft reports.

About You:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
  • Proven experience in project administration and coordination with an understanding of the project life cycle and development of project plans and objectives including managing expenditure, logistics, promotions, communications, reporting and meeting documentation.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills, including proven ability to develop presentations and reports and the ability to research and analyse material and summarise key issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to collect, visualise and analyse data.
  • Demonstrated ability to support change within a complex organisational environment, experience within an educational setting is desirable.
  • Strong service orientation with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated success building and maintain positive professional relationships with staff at all levels, both internally and externally, as well as student partners.
  • Advanced organisational skills, accuracy and attention to detail with proven ability to work to strict deadlines and manage competing demands.
  • Ability to create communication plans and promotional materials
