- Full-time (5 FTE) appointment on a fixed term basis till 30 June 2028
- Base salary range: Level C, $144,143 – $165,809 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.

The Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor Indigenous Education leads UWA’s commitment to strengthening Indigenous education, culture, and research across the University. Within this portfolio sits the Centre of Best Practice in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Suicide Prevention (CBPATSISP)—a nationally recognised leader dedicated to working alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, families, communities, and organisations.

About the opportunity
- Lead and contribute to high‑impact research that advances best practice in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander suicide prevention.
- Build strong partnerships with community-controlled organisations, policymakers, clinicians, and other national stakeholders.
- Produce high‑quality publications, reports, presentations, and resources that influence policy and practice across Australia.
- Mentor and supervise students and early‑career researchers committed to Indigenous mental health and wellbeing.
- Drive funding applications, ethics submissions, and project development that support the Centre’s long-term research goals.
About you
- You hold a PhD (or equivalent experience) in public health, allied health, psychology, or a closely related field.
- You bring strong knowledge of Aboriginal culture and have well‑established relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
- You have demonstrated research expertise in Indigenous mental health, social and emotional wellbeing, or suicide prevention.
- You excel in grant writing, communicating confidently and collaboratively, with an excellent publication record and strong engagement skills.
- You are organised, self‑directed, and thrive in multidisciplinary environments where community partnership is central.
