The Nuffield Department of Population Health (NDPH) contains world renowned population health research groups and provides an excellent environment for multi-disciplinary research and teaching.

We are looking for a Senior Researcher in the Ethics of Infectious Diseases and Global Health. Reporting to Professor Michael Parker, and working closely with the team at the Berman Institute for Bioethics at Johns Hopkins University, the post holder will be a member of the Ethox Centre and will have significant and specific responsibility for developing the infectious diseases ethics and global health collaboration between Ethox, the Berman Institute, and the wider GLIDE Network.

The Ethox Centre is an internationally-recognised multidisciplinary bioethics research centre located within the Nuffield Department of Population Health at the University of Oxford. It is situated in the Big Data Institute on the University’s Old Road Campus, giving it ready access to major medical research institutes such as the Clinical Trials Service Unit, the Oxford Centre for Human Genetics, Oxford Global Health, and the NIHR Oxford Biomedical Research Centre.

To be considered, you will hold a PhD/DPhil in bioethics, medical ethics, or other subject relevant to infectious disease ethics in global health, significant relevant postdoctoral research experience and sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to work effectively within the research programme as outlined in the role description.

This is a full time, fixed term post (part time considered) for 3 years. The closing date for applications is noon on 14 April 2026.
