Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Senior Scientific / Technical Officer to join Faculty Operations, Faculty of Health.
The Senior Scientific/Technical Officer provides specialised technical expertise within a highly professional technical team in support of the Faculty’s academic endeavours. The role is responsible for the effective, safe and sustainable operation of a range of laboratory facilities and specialist equipment. The role requires significant discipline specific specialised knowledge to engage with and provide high quality technical support to academics and students within the Medical Radiation Science, Anatomy and Physiology disciplines.

What you need to succeed
- Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in medical radiation science or anatomy or physiology, or a related field with subsequent relevant. scientific/technical experience. Demonstrated experience in tertiary educational laboratories will be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated theoretical and practical understanding of medical radiation science, anatomy and/or physiology.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively connect and collaborate with colleagues and work in teams, and a demonstrated ability to embrace and participate in change.
- Well-developed problem-solving skills including the ability to contribute to continuous improvement, and apply specialist knowledge and skills in the identification and resolution of work issues and effectively organise and prioritise work in order to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to accurately review and interpret instructions of a conceptual nature; to relate specialist knowledge to provide maintenance and repairs to equipment, and to produce technical reports, communications and documentation to a high standard.
- Demonstrated understanding of policies and compliance with Health, Safety and Environment and the School of Anatomy. Current possession of a radiation Use license is desired, or previous or current equivalent. Previous or current certification as Radiation Safety Officer is also desired.
