As the Senior Student Internship Officer, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of engineering and IT students at the University of Melbourne. You'll coordinate domestic internship programs for Masters students, develop employability initiatives, and foster crucial industry connections. This role offers you the chance to directly impact students' career trajectories while collaborating with diverse stakeholders in a dynamic, forward-thinking environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinate Student Internships: Manage recruitment, selection, and placement of Masters students in domestic internship programs, liaising with host employers and ensuring program quality.
- Develop Employability Programs: Create and deliver curricular and co-curricular activities that enhance students' employability skills, including events like Hackathons and the Endeavour program.
- Foster Industry Relationships: Build and maintain partnerships with employers, industry networks, and community organisations to create valuable opportunities for students.
- Enhance Student Experience: Contribute to the overall student experience by aligning initiatives with the Advancing Melbourne Strategy and collaborating across the Faculty.

You are a proactive and collaborative professional with experience in program coordination, stakeholder management, and a passion for enhancing student employability in the engineering and IT sectors.
You may also:
- Have a tertiary qualification with relevant work experience in a similar role, preferably in a tertiary environment.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrate strong organisational and problem-solving abilities, capable of managing multiple priorities and delivering creative solutions.
- Proven background in event coordination with end-to-end responsibility for planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring seamless coordination and successful outcomes.
- Have experience in local recruitment practices and understanding of labour market trends.
- Be proficient in using various software applications and have the ability to quickly adapt to new systems.
