Remuneration: $135,483 to $153,562 pa. (HEW 8) (inclusive $114,485 to $129,761 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)
Location: Kelvin Grove (hybrid option available)

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Senior Student Success Educator to join Learning and Teaching Unit, Education Portfolio, Academic Division.

The Senior Student Success Educator will plan, manage and contribute to the delivery of university-wide student success and transition support programs, services and activities provided by Student Success and Teaching Advancement. This includes management of university-wide activities focusing on retention, parity of access and impact on student outcomes. The position works collaboratively with SSTA colleagues and key stakeholders across the University to develop and implement student success strategy and to drive innovation and good practice, ensuring that services and resources are student-centric, effective, accessible, inclusive, cohesive and sustainable.

This is achieved through the provision of university wide learning, careers and retention support services and strategies, and building an engaged community of innovative academic practice and learner focused educational delivery using scholarly and data informed approaches. SSTA is a large section within LTU employing more than 120 academic, professional and sessional staff, and student partners..

What you need to succeed

Education, training and/or experience equivalent to the completion of postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications in a discipline with a strong relevance to education and student success.
Demonstrated capacity to lead, coach and supervise staff in a challenging environment and to respond flexibly to rapidly changing educational situations.
Demonstrated professional leadership and understanding of innovative pedagogical theory, practice and technology in the design, delivery and evaluation of transition and retention strategies and services, and inclusive student academic skills support.
Demonstrated ability to foster mutually beneficial, inclusive and innovative partnerships underpinned by a commitment to working from a social justice framework to support student success.
Demonstrated ability to realise value to students and stakeholders through strategic, critical insights, analysis and design of innovative solutions which respond to the issues which affect diverse adult learners and their retention and success in higher education.
Highly effective written, verbal and digital communication skills with the ability to conduct presentations and provide advice and development to stakeholders.
