Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Enterprise Applications Manager, the Senior System Analyst provides advanced technical and functional support for the institution's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and Student Information System (e.g., Ellucian Banner) and its integrated applications. This role is responsible for analyzing complex business problems, facilitating optimal solutions, and ensuring the stability and efficient operation of core administrative systems.
Description of Duties:
- Collaborate closely with business users and stakeholders to define needs, gather requirements, and analyze complex business processes.
- Design, develop, and implement effective technology solutions, including complex custom reports and online information inquiries, that align with IT standards.
- Perform requirements gathering and business process analysis to design applications that meet user needs.
- Lead the comprehensive administration of the core ERP system, including configuration, software upgrades, security management, and environment maintenance.
- Manage and support transactional data, application security, user access, and system/process monitoring.
- Install, configure, and upgrade enterprise applications; coordinate and conduct validation and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Develop, test, and maintain application integrations, APIs, and complex data extractions using SQL and PL/SQL.
- Design and implement application interfaces to ensure seamless data flow between critical systems.
- Lead and manage the full lifecycle of complex IT projects, ensuring they meet strategic objectives and timelines.
- Mentor technical staff, assisting in the development and maintenance of departmental documentation, standards, and process flow charts.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and testing of IT disaster recovery plans.
- Provide advanced technical support for end-users, applying problem analysis and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex application issues.
- Maintain, manage, and demonstrate proficiency across multiple operating systems, including Microsoft Windows and Linux.
- Develop and maintain clear technical documentation, training materials, and system reports; deliver training to end-users.
- Utilize and maintain information within the Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) system.
- Contributes to the overall success of ITS by performing all other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands:
Must be available on an on-call basis or to work non-standard business hours to upgrade and support enterprise applications and their users. Hear and understand speech at normal levels. Communicate so others will be able to clearly understand normal conversation. Read printed materials and computer screens. Sit or stand for prolonged periods of time at a desk, conference table or in meetings of various configurations. Operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and coordination including use of a computer keyboard.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in information technology field or equivalent combination of education and (2- 4) experience. Direct related experience may be considered in lieu of bachelor's degree.
Proven experience with the Ellucian Banner or other enterprise-level ERP and SIS system.
Demonstrated ability to manage and maintain multiple OS environments (Windows, Linux).
Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities to resolve complex technical and functional issues.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Ellucian Banner System, Ethos and Banner Business APIs.
