Senior Teaching Fellow/Teaching Fellow/Instructor I in the Department of Chinese and History [Ref. R/026/26]
Duties
- Teach the University course “GE1501 Chinese Civilisation – History and Philosophy”, as well as other courses related to Chinese culture at postgraduate levels;
- Contribute to the development of courses and study programmes;
- Undertake teaching and teaching-related duties, as well as learning support and professional activities to enhance students’ educational experience; and
- Share administrative duties as required by the Head of Department.
Requirements
- A relevant postgraduate degree with strong teaching or professional experience in the broadly-defined areas of Chinese Studies/Chinese History/Cultural Heritage or related fields; and
- Possess expertise in one or more of the following areas: Cultural Heritage, Chinese Cultural History and Special Topics.
Candidates for Senior Teaching Fellow should have substantial professional experience, expertise and recognisable achievements in non-academic settings; and a distinguished record of teaching and administration, contribution to instructional development, with demonstrated experience and accomplishment in curriculum planning and student supervision.
Candidates for Teaching Fellow should have good professional experience and expertise in non-academic settings, with experience in teaching and administration.
Candidates for Instructor I should have 4 years’ appropriate undergraduate/postgraduate full-time teaching experience.
Salary and Conditions of Service
Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
