You will work closely with colleagues in Responsive Maintenance, Statutory Compliance, PPM and Lifecycle teams to deliver high quality electrical repairs and improvement works whether these come from routine testing, system faults or regulatory updates.
This is a varied, hands on role where each day brings new challenges. You will provide specialist advice on electrical risk, plan programmes of work, oversee contractors and ensure our buildings and critical electrical infrastructure continue to support University activities safely and effectively.
What You Will Be Doing
- Delivering electrical maintenance and compliance works across a large and diverse operational estate.
- Managing and supervising electrical repairs to ensure compliance with University and statutory standards.
- Conducting fault diagnosis, electrical surveys and condition assessments.
- Using the CAFM system to track KPIs, monitor performance and support continuous improvement.
- Developing planned programmes of work to improve system reliability and long term performance.
- Working collaboratively with Health & Safety, Building Surveying, Statutory Compliance and Project Delivery teams.
- Providing clear, confident technical advice to both specialists and non specialists.
About You
We are looking for someone who combines strong technical expertise with leadership capability and sound judgement across multiple buildings and workstreams.
You will bring:
- Proven experience managing electrical repairs within a facilities or large estate environment.
- Strong understanding of electrical statutory compliance and maintenance requirements.
- The ability to plan, organise and prioritise workloads.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills when dealing with contractors, colleagues and building users.
- A relevant electrical qualification (HNC or equivalent, plus 18th Edition).
- Health & Safety qualifications such as IOSH or NEBOSH.
If you enjoy solving complex technical challenges, leading others and influencing improvements across the estate, this is an excellent next step within the Division.
Why Join Us?
