The School of Social Work, in the Faculty of Health and Social Development, at the UBC Okanagan campus is seeking applications for a part-time (33% FTE), in-person, lecturer in the 2024W Term 1 (September to December, 2024.) for the following course:

SOCW 554: Mental Health and Mental Illness (3 credits)

Explores relevant mental health issues to social work practice in a broad range of settings. Critically examines social work’s role in providing effective, evidence-based, theoretically sound interventions and treatments.

The ideal candidate will hold an MSW or PhD in Social Work, or a related discipline, with relevant university teaching experience. Responsibilities include:

  • Deliver core lectures
  • Coordinate with guest lecturers
  • Organize tests, mid-term exams and grading
  • Hold weekly office hours

The term teaching dates are September 3, 2024 to December 31, 2024. The salary is $9,559.12 per period ($2,389.78 per month for a full term). More information about the School of Social Work can be found at School of Social Work: UBC’s Okanagan Campus.
