Job Summary
As a Simulation Technician, you will support and enhance simulation experiences for all learners in collaboration with program faculty to ensure quality and continuity in the achievement of course student learning outcomes (CSLOs) for all programs.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, store, maintain, update, and repair simulators, task trainers and other simulation equipment
- Demonstrate working knowledge of a range of common audio-visual and IT hardware and software while also providing general technical support and troubleshooting
- Set up, operate, and store audiovisual and IT equipment while demonstrating safe and effective operation of equipment
- Provide general support and troubleshooting for medical simulation equipment
- Support Simulation Center users in the use of instructional media and equipment
- Contribute to and maintain simulation equipment documentation
- Demonstrate a general knowledge of adult learning theory by supporting all aspects of the learning environment
- Prepare the simulation environment to represent the clinical setting
- Create moulage to model physiologic responses to the scenario events
- Maintain stock control, ensuring adequate security and levels of consumables and equipment are maintained
- Ensure preparation and storage areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and orderly manner and comply with health and safety regulations
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
- Technical diploma or Associate Degree from an accredited institution
Other Required Qualifications
- Affinity for a technical role (IT, A/V, Electronics/Computer building)
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Experience
- Basic understanding of human anatomy and physiology
- Prior technical role in a simulation lab
Proposed Salary
$24.04 per hour
This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
