Organizational Unit Overview:
The Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, in conjunction with ECU Health Medical Center, provides clinical services in anatomic pathology and clinical pathology for hospital patients and clinic patients.
The mission of the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine is to improve the health and well-being of the citizens of eastern North Carolina and beyond by delivering high quality pathology services, by providing exemplary education, and by creating new knowledge through research.

Job Duties:
Data Management (40%)
Develop and maintain detailed records for publication and report data in an organized fashion (tabular, oral, written, and/or graphic formats) to the principal investigator.
Manage data (genetic, clinical, health, survey, etc.) collection, quality control, input, design, and maintenance of databases.
Retrieve patient information from Epic.
Retrieve pathology information from pathology reports.
Research Management (35%) With the highest level of integrity and responsible retrieve, assess, and analyze participate in writing manuscripts. Coordinate and oversee statistical analyses performed by other team members, ensuring adequate computational resources, assisting with statistical design, and, when needed, analysis execution.
Ensure the PIs data management and analysis strategy are aligned with best practices in the field.
With the principal investigator (PI), establish goals and objectives for the efficient and timely completion of projects. Meet regularly with the PI to review and set priorities, staff/trainee-related issues, and planning for future directions.
Develop and maintain computational pipelines, tools, and data products to summarize and capture genetic and genomic evidence and its interpretations as standardized knowledge to inform downstream analyses and progression decisions.
Presentations and Publications (25%)Assemble data and make publication-quality figures from analyzed data. Present data and findings at laboratory meetings and scientific meetings. Prepare manuscripts and contribute preliminary data for grant proposals.
Minimum Education/Experience:
Bachelors degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
