Advise secondary education History and Social Studies
students
Prepare materials consistent with NCSS standards to maintain
CAEP accreditation
Recommend and collaborate with university supervisors for
student teaching
Serve on the Central Teacher Education Network (CTEN)
committee
Promote and support pedagogical innovation, particularly
through the thoughtful integration of technology into teaching and
learning
Applicant Evaluative Criteria
Applicant profiles and supplementary materials will be evaluated
for appointment based on the following:
Education:
- All applicants must possess a Ph.D. in History (or in related
discipline) in hand or due to be conferred by December 31,
2027
Experience and Training:
- One of the following:
- Evidence of employment in public middle or high school setting
as a licensed, certified social studies teacher
OR
- Demonstrated experience working within teacher education
programs or teaching courses related to teacher preparation
Ideal Candidate
Preference will be given to applicants with the following:
- Field of specialization in US History, in particular, Vast
Early America
- Ability to contribute to History department’s other areas of
strength—public history, game studies, and international
education

Compensation and Employee Benefits
In accordance with the Connecticut State University American
Association of University Professors (AAUP) Collective Bargaining
Union Contract, compensation for this position is at the rank of
Assistant Professor for 2024-2025. Salary is commensurate with
