Social Worker MSW/MSW SR - 1.0 FTE, Department of Psychiatry, Addiction Treatment Services (UMATS) Health Professionals Recovery Program (HPRP) at the Rachel Upjohn Building (RUB)
This appointment is a full-time clinical position in the UMATS Health Professionals Recovery Program (HPRP). The position involves participation on a multi-disciplinary outpatient team, with clinical responsibilities to provide direct billable clinical work in evaluating and treating health professionals with alcohol use disorders, other substance use disorders and mental health diagnoses. Previous experience running group psychotherapy treatment and using outcome measures is desired and participation in the education and training of students and staff from social work and other disciplines is expected.
Applicants should have 5 years post fully licensed clinical experience (HPRP/State Regulation), advanced evidence-based psychotherapy training (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Addiction, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Family Systems Therapy) comprising of supervised clinical experience using this modality for 6 or more months. Applicants with full licensure and evidence-based trainings will be considered the most qualified. Although this position is primarily clinical, those with appropriate knowledge base and experience will have opportunities for active participation in training and supervision of students and staff from a range of mental health disciplines. Some skills and training in research are a plus, though not a requirement.

You will be responsible for:
- Providing direct billable clinical work including psychiatric and addiction evaluations and psychotherapy to adults with Alcohol Use Disorders, other substance use disorders and mental health diagnoses.
- Providing evidence-based psychotherapy treatment including individual, family and group modalities.
- Participation in the education and training of students and staff from social work and other disciplines.
Required Qualifications
- A Master's degree in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council of Social Work Education.
- A current license to practice social work in the State of Michigan.
- 5 years post fully licensed clinical experience (HPRP/State Regulation).
- Applicants should have advanced evidence-based psychotherapy training comprising supervised clinical experience using this modality for 6 or more months.
- This classification requires Primary Source Verification.
- Applicants should have the knowledge base and experience to participate in the education and training of students and staff from social work and other disciplines.
- Efficient, accurate psychiatric assessment skills and effective case presentation skills.
- Independent, sound decision-making is necessary for success in this position.
- Effective collaboration with a large multi-disciplinary team.
- Proficiency in keeping accurate and timely clinical records by computer.
This is full time, 40 hour/week position. This position will require some evening hours, typically 1-2 days per week.
This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate. Advancement through the career ladder at the Expert or Clinical Scholar Level is required for placement in the MSW Senior Classification
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the United Michigan Medicine Allied Professionals (UMMAP), which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.
