Specialist II, Learning Commons - Writing Center
Job Summary
Reporting to the assigned campus leader, this role provides front-line customer service to students, employees, and the public at the TCC Learning Commons. This position is responsible for cross-training in multiple areas with the ability to assist with clerical, customer service, learning lab, library, and other professional duties throughout the Learning Commons.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
General
- Serves as a knowledgeable resource to students, faculty, staff, and the community to enhance learning and engagement while supporting multiple functions and spaces within the Learning Commons
- Provides consultative guidance to students, faculty, staff, and the community regarding available resources and support services
- Oversees the front desk and assists in the daily operations and administrative responsibilities of the Learning Commons, including appointment scheduling, calendar management, and electronic or phone communication
Library
- Serves as a key resource for identifying and connecting stakeholders with sources of information to support learning, research, and engagement
Learning Support
- Provides experienced tutoring assistance to students to enhance learning and increase academic success
Required Minimum Qualifications
- Associates degree or 60 college hours and one (1) year of working experience related to the Essential Performance, or any equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
