Specialist Lecturer/Assessor - Exams Access Arrangements
Based within our Learning Support team, you will be responsible for the screening, assessment and access arrangements for learners. You will plan, develop, manage, and monitor the overall process of screening, referrals to educational psychologists, Disabled Student Allowance (DSA) applications and Needs Assessments. You will produce reports of assessments to support students’ application for special arrangements in examinations, and liaise extensively with schools, parents and the College’s Exams department. You would also teach learners with specific learning difficulties.
You should be qualified to degree level with a minimum Level 5 teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector, and possess a relevant specialist dyslexia qualification (e.g. OCR L7 Diploma in SPLD, PG Dip ADDS or MA SPLD) or will be willing to undertake this qualification. You should have experience of teaching and supporting learners with specific learning difficulties and preferably experience of assessing and supporting students with SPLD (Dyslexia). You will need strong administrative and organisational skills, the ability to meet deadlines and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
