The Sr. Coordinator of Career and Alumni Engagement (CAE) will play a key support role on the CAE team at the Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE). Our unit's mission is to help students and alumni thrive and engage in lifelong personal growth, professional development, and career exploration.

In partnership with CAE teammates, the Sr. Coordinator will support job search and advancement services for our 1,000+ HGSE students and 30,000+ HGSE alumni. Among other initiatives, this position will support projects related to networking initiatives, community building activities, and lifelong learning opportunities to further the mission of our School: empowering educators to enact positive change in the field in partnership with the Academic Programs and Support Services staff. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Support the work of our HGSE Alumni Council, including meeting scheduling and preparation, managing optional events, supporting new member application processes, and developing materials
  • Assist in the planning, execution and promotion of on-campus, regional, and virtual HGSE events based on alumni and student needs analysis and faculty expertise
  • Manage the HGSE Alumni January-Term session offerings from launching the application for alumni to submit proposals, to selection, to execution.
  • Provide administrative support for recruitment events including but not limited to the annual Internship Expo, job fairs, Careers in Education alumni panels and Crimson Connect event (student-alumni networking opportunity) in partnership with CAE teammates
  • As needed, contribute to HGSE-sponsored events and programs executed by campus partners
  • Under the direction of the Associate Director of Recruitment and Employer Relations and in coordination with the Degree Programs team, provide administrative support for the implementation of short- and long-term employer engagement strategy
  • Support CAE recruitment, job-search events and alumni panels, including but not limited to registration, budget tracking, room reservations, etc.
  • Oversee material generation and management for recruitment and employer engagement events including student Resume Books
  • Support relevant Fellowship recruitment initiatives
  • Offer weekly career coaching appointments to students and alumni (~3-10 hours/weekly)
  • With the Associate Director, partner with Academic Programs and Support Services staff to ensure shared understanding of student needs and transparent communication in providing cohesive, streamlined services
  • Support the unique job-search needs of international and underrepresented HGSE students as well as our mid-career professionals (including Online Ed.M. in Educational Leadership students/graduates as well as doctoral students/graduates)
  • Under the general direction of the Associate Director, draft and send communications to students, alumni, and employers that are relevant, accurate, and concise
  • Support Course Collaborations working with specific faculty on recruiting employers and partners to engage in fieldwork activities
  • Provide outreach to HGSE alumni as potential employers for HGSE graduates
  • Oversee recruitment event registration and post-event evaluation processes
  • Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications: Minimum 4 years of relevant experience. This position may be required to work overtime, including some nights and weekends during peak times of the academic year. Any candidate wishing to be considered must submit a cover letter in addition to their resume.

Additional Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's degree preferred. Prior work in higher education a plus, particularly in career services or employer relations. Demonstrated ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders with a commitment to equity and inclusion. Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and time management skills. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to outstanding service. Willingness to provide ground-level support as needed, including at night and/or on weekends during busy periods.

Additional Information: Standard Hours/Schedule: 35 hours per week. Visa Sponsorship Information: Harvard University is unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position. Pre-Employment Screening: Identity. Work Format Details: This is a position that is based at a Harvard campus location with some remote work options available. All remote work must be performed within one of the Harvard Registered Payroll States.
