Monitor network performance, investigate faults, and troubleshoot connectivity issues to ensure reliable and secure operations.Support and maintain campus physical security and access control systems, including associated network-connected devices.Implement firmware upgrades, patches, and configuration changes to maintain system performance, security, and compliance.Respond to service requests, provide technical support, and collaborate with campus departments and stakeholders to resolve issues.Assist with network planning, implementation, documentation, and reporting to support operational and strategic technology initiatives.Minimum and Desired QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:- Associate degree or relevant work experience may be substituted if combined with one industry recognized network certification.
One of more years of experience with infrastructure/enterprise systems and support, including but not limited to the following:- Routing: Static, VRRP, OSPF.
- Switching: VLANs, VTP, Spanning-Tree, Virtual Chassis, LACP, WLAN.
- Firewalls: Network segmentation, firewall policies, VPN.
- DHCP and DNS network services.
- Vendors: Juniper, Cisco, Ruckus Wireless, Dell, Fortinet, F5, Genetec.
- Network Monitoring Tools: Nagios, LibreNMS, Graylog.
- Security camera and access control systems and standards.
- Current Lamar IT employee.
Desired Qualifications: - Minimum of three years of experience supporting enterprise infrastructure and network services.
- Experience with security cameras systems, access control technologies, and enterprise wireless environments.
- Relevant industry certifications preferred, such as CCNA, JNCIP-ENT, or JNCIA
- Prior experience in higher education or K-12 environments is preferred.

Physical Requirements: Ability to perform the physical activities associated with network infrastructure installation, maintenance, and support, including lifting equipment, working in telecommunications and data center environments, and moving throughout campus or multiple work locations.
Job Conditions: May be required to work in data centers, telecommunications closets, and other technical environments, with occasional after-hours support for maintenance activities and emergency network outages.
