"Staff Associate I"

The Staff Associate I will work with a team of researchers focused on Alzheimer’s disease and the aging brain. The research involves understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying Alzheimer’s disease, cognitive aging, and related disorders. The incumbent will contribute conceptual and interpretive support to the development and implementation of novel research ideas, including potential therapeutic approaches to drug discovery for Alzheimer’s disease. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Functional Knowledge:
Knowledge of the research subject and scientific methods of analysis.

Problem Solving:
Utilizes analytical skills to solve moderately complex problems based on established guidelines, protocols, and procedures.

Decision Making / Autonomy:
Works within established guidelines to carry out assigned duties, including the design of apparatus, adaptation of relevant technology to project needs, conduct of specific experiments, and analysis of data.

Technical Expertise:
Ability to operate and maintain equipment, computers, software programs, and research tools in support of the project.

Communication:
Shares information and confirms data with team members.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant research field and four years of experience preferred.
