lead co-ordinator of MalDA in Fidock lab.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Functional Knowledge: Should have working knowledge of basic cellular and molecular biology, flow cytometry, microscopy & scientific methods of analysis. Assists with experimental design and data analysis.
Problem-Solving: Utilizes analytical skills to solve moderately complex problems based on guidelines, protocols, and procedures. Troubleshoots as needed.
Decision Making/Autonomy: Works within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and policies required to properly and effectively execute experiments. Works with immediate supervisor to prepare monthly meeting updates
Technical Expertise: Must have ability to operate and maintain equipment, software and instruments used in project. Instrument calibration, maintenance.
Communication: Must be able to present experimental data. There will be monthly meetings between Columbia Uni (Fidock lab) and UCSD (Winzeler lab) where updates will be expected
Specific skills and/or knowledge: Understanding of basic scientific methods. Knowledge in cellular and molecular biology techniques, microscopy and basic biological data analysis skills. Most work will be conducted during regular business hours due to nature of this research some flexibility is possible/desired.
Minimum Educational Requirements Bachelor?s degree in science, Engineering, or related STEM field.
