Job Description:
DEPARTMENT: Student Health Center (SHC)
BASIC FUNCTION: Provides nursing treatment for Fairfield University students; provides operational support within the Student Health Center; assists with health education for individual patients as well as health education outreach.
UNUSUAL WORK CONDITIONS: Access to confidential medical information; ability to function during peak periods of demand for health care; exposure to all types of illnesses and blood borne pathogens.
EDUCATION: Registered Nurse in CT; Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree preferred.
Continuing education in late adolescent issues. CPR certification is required.
EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years nursing experience, demonstrated interpersonal skills. Emergency room experience helpful.
REPORTS TO: Assistant Director of Health Center
WORK SCHEDULE: This is a 12-month position at 37.5 hours/week.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Provides nursing treatment for Fairfield University students. Ensures compliance with physician/APRN orders, the Nurse Practice Act, and established departmental policies and procedures. This involves:
