Overview
The NYU Student Health Center (SHC) is seeking a part-time, hybrid eligible endocrinologist to provide high quality patient care to a diverse University community of more than 50,000 undergraduate and graduate students. Common endocrinology issues include diabetes, thyroid conditions, PCOS, obesity, and other conditions, both emergent and chronic. The endocrinologist consults and co-manages patients with Primary Care, GYN, Dermatology, and other providers in a large multi-specialty health center in Manhattan (Washington Square Park campus). The Specialty Unit is supported by highly experienced nurses who assist with labs and patient education among other tasks. On-site services include a dedicated pharmacy, registered dieticians, optometry, behavioral health specialists, and gender-affirming care. The SHC staff make a commitment to supporting students in their wellbeing to assure their academic success. The ideal candidate has clinical expertise, skills in shared decision-making and patient-centered care, and commitment to working with a team approach to improve care.
Responsibilities
Required Education:
M.D. or D.O. degree, NY State medical license, Board Certified in Endocrinology (Internal Medicine or Med/Peds). BLS certification.
Required Experience:
2 years clinical experience as a Physician in the field of Endocrinology. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration, eligibility to obtain medical liability insurance. Approval for clinical privileges by the Credentials Committee.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with gender-affirming care a plus. Experience working in a multi-specialty setting and/or Student Health practice setting helpful.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal, analytical, problem solving, and written and verbal communication skills. Ability to interact with individuals at all levels and provide culturally sensitive and high quality clinical care. Active engagement in life-long learning for clinical skills and doctor-patient relationship.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must be well versed in quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy and legitimacy of data in NYU systems and be able to strictly follow data privacy and security procedures for data handling and analysis to ensure adherence to legal and institutional standards.
Qualifications
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $115,197.59 to USD $155,197.59. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
