Metro State University, a member of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System, is seeking to hire adjunct professors of in the College of Individualized Studies.

Description of College:

The College of Individualized Studies empowers adult students to design and complete high-quality degrees that value their academic and life-long learning. The College of Individualized Studies is the place where students of diverse backgrounds can get an innovative, dynamic degree recognizing all life-long learning by:

  • Empowering students to create their own degree plan
  • Being a national leader in credit for prior learning
  • Collaborating with other Minnesota State institutions and community partners
  • Offering transfer pathway options for community and technical colleges

Responsibilities

Adjunct Faculty members are expected to:

  • Demonstrate a commitment to serving a diverse student body by delivering a student-centered education and using approaches that support equitable outcomes for all students.
  • Provide excellent learning environments through in-person, online, and/or hybrid course modalities.

Minimum Qualifications:

All faculty teaching undergraduate courses must meet one of the following minimum qualifications:

  • A Master's degree, or terminal degree (e.g., Ph. D., Ed.D., M.F.A., D.N.P., D.B.A.) in discipline, subfield or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach.
  • A J.D. degree with expertise in the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach.
  • A Master's degree, terminal degree (e.g., Ph.D., Ed.D, M.F.A., D.N.P.) or J. D. with expertise in a different discipline or subfield in which they teach and at least 18 semester hour credits of graduate coursework in the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach.
  • A Master's degree, terminal degree (e.g., Ph.D., Ed.D, M.F.A., D.N.P.), or J. D. with expertise in a different discipline or subfield in which they teach and at least 2 years of work experience directly related to the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach.
  • A Bachelor's degree (e.g., B.A., B.S., B.S.N., B.F.A.) in the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach, and at least 18 semester hour credits of graduate coursework or an equivalent amount of professional certification in the discipline or subfield in which they teach.
  • A Bachelor's degree (e.g., B.A., B.S., B.S.N., B.F.A.) in the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach; and at least 2 years of work experience directly related to the discipline, subfield or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach or 1 year of work experience and discipline-specific certification.

All faculty teaching graduate level courses must meet one of the following minimum qualifications:

  • A terminal degree (e.g., Ph. D., Ed.D., M.F.A, D.N.P., D.B.A.) in the discipline, subfield or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach.
  • A J.D. degree with expertise in the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach.
  • A Master's degree in the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach and at least 18 semester hour credits of terminal degree graduate coursework in the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach.
  • A Master's degree in the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach; and at least 2 years of work experience directly related to the discipline, subfield,

Salary: $1,888.00 per credit
