Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

We are looking for a highly motivated statistician to join our team who can contribute to the development of statistical support to clinical intervention studies that is currently being developed as part of the Clinicum initiative. Do you want to be part of our journey and make a real difference as a statistician in ensuring that clinical research studies are of the highest quality?

Your mission

The role involves working with all aspects of statistical support in the planning, implementation and evaluation of clinical studies, with a strategic focus on study design and study planning. The work involves, for example, contributions to the choice of study design and analysis methods, development of study protocols and statistical analysis plans, review of eCRFs and interpretation of study results. The work will be carried out in collaboration with clinical researchers and other research support functions in the region, as well as other biostatisticians at Karolinska Institutet. As a statistician in the group, you will have the opportunity to be part of shaping the extended methodological support to medical researchers and to work with research studies in a wide range of indications.

The working language for this position is both English and Swedish.

Your profile

The applicant should have:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in statistics, mathematical statistics or medical statistics.
  • Good knowledge and experience in statistical programming software (R, SAS, or Stata).
  • At least three years of experience working with medical research.
  • Experience working in interdisciplinary teams and communicating statistics to collaborators who are not statisticians.

Previous documented experience of working with randomized clinical trials is of particular merit. A PhD in a subject relevant to the position in question (e.g. biostatistics, epidemiology or medical science) is also a merit. The primary working language is Swedish, and hence proficiency in Swedish is important. Applicants should also be able to speak and write scientific English fluently.

In the selection of candidates, great emphasis will be placed on experience in independently prioritizing and planning one's own work, ability to collaborate, personal qualities and motivation to apply for the position. Applicants should have a strong interest in medical research.
