Job Summary
This is manual and clerical work in a warehouse or storeroom. Work involves performance of general warehouse or storeroom activities including receiving, storing, issuing, delivering, and shipping of wide variety of supplies; maintaining routine records, performing custodial tasks, rearranging for storage space, participating in taking inventory, wrapping and packaging items, and requisitioning standard supply items.
Responsibilities
The job duties include, but are not limited to:
Issue Materials, Supplies and Equipment
- Receives and checks incoming shipments against purchase orders and delivery documentation.
- Unpacks, labels, and stores items in appropriate locations.
- Issues and distributes materials, supplies, or equipment upon authorized request.
Load and unload incoming materials
- Operates material handling equipment such as hand trucks, pallet jacks, or carts as needed.
- Operates motor vehicles for transport and distribution initiatives
Organization and Cleanliness of Warehouse/Storage Areas
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the storeroom or warehouse.
- Completes periodic or annual physical inventories
Perform Routine Clerical Duties
- Prepares and completes requisitions, issue slips, and inventory documentation.
- Reports shortages, damages, and inventory discrepancies to the supervisor.
- Maintains accurate stock records and inventory counts.
- Assist in updates to the organizational annual inventory
Performs Other Related Duties
- May assist in transport and set up, of equipment for event setups and completion of move requests.
- May assist in general custodial services to include pressure washing and flood response
Required Qualifications
High School diploma or GED from a recognized State or Federal accredited organization
Preferred Qualifications
One (1) year of related storeroom, warehouse, or inventory experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
ABILITIES
- Ability to maintain accurate records and follow established inventory control systems.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to lift and move moderately heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and provide good customer service to campus or departmental users.
KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of standard storeroom methods and procedures.
- Basic computer literacy (data entry, inventory systems, email).
SKILLS
- Skill in counting, sorting, and verifying materials.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days: Monday - Friday
Pay Band: 1
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
