Description

The Student Aide will report to the Executive Coordinator to the President and serves as a member of the President’s Office team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, front desk reception, general clerical tasks, answering and routing phone calls, assisting with meeting and event preparation, assembling materials, and providing customer service to students, staff, and visitors. The Student Aide will contribute to the overall functionality of the President’s Office while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.

Desired Qualities

Student Aides should demonstrate professionalism, reliability, strong communication skills, and a customer‑service‑oriented approach. The Student Aide should be comfortable interacting with students, staff, and visitors and able to follow instructions while completing routine office tasks. As representatives of the President’s Office, Student Aides are expected to conduct themselves in a timely, courteous, and responsible manner and understand the importance of confidentiality and dealing with sensitive matters.

Education Requirements

In order to apply for this position, you must be a current Harper College student, enrolled in at least six (6) credit hours per semester, three (3) in the summer. You must remain enrolled in courses to be eligible for the position.

Experience Requirements

Student Aides should be comfortable working in a professional office environment. Prior office, customer service, or campus employment experience is preferred but not required. Familiarity with basic office technology and Microsoft Office applications required. Student Aides must be able to handle sensitive information appropriately and have the ability to follow directions and complete tasks independently.

Additional Information

Please include your availability in your cover letter. In general, Student Aides are scheduled during regular business hours, typically between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., with occasional flexibility to support meetings or events. Minimum 10 hours per week and maximum 20 hours per week.

Maintain a professional appearance consistent with business casual attire.
