Student and Academic Administration Officer

About This Opportunity

The School of Communication and Arts is seeking a motivated, energetic, and organised Student and Academic Administration Officer to deliver high-quality customer service through friendly, accurate, and informative advice and support to students, academic staff, and professional colleagues.

Reporting to the Senior Officer Administration, this role is responsible for delivering a wide range of administrative processes that support team and School outcomes. You will undertake diverse administrative tasks, resolve day-to-day issues, and maintain administrative systems to ensure effective service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Core Student Administration

  • Provide timely and accurate information to students, staff, and stakeholders in accordance with university policies, procedures, guidelines, and relevant legislation.
  • Process applications and documentation relating to admissions, progression, enrolment, assessment, examinations, class sign-on, study abroad and exchange, academic integrity, honours, and other student administration matters.
  • Prepare information and recommendations to support decision-making on student matters in line with university rules and legislative requirements.

General Administration

  • Provide secretarial support for meetings, committees, and working parties as required.
  • Represent the University at Courses and Careers Days, UQ Open Day, and other engagement and outreach activities as required.
  • Undertake other duties as reasonably directed

About You

  • An undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education and training.
  • Demonstrated understanding of student and academic administration processes, or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge.
  • Strong attention to detail, with effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities, exercise judgement, and work both independently and collaboratively.
  • A strong commitment to delivering high-quality customer service and supporting a diverse student cohort.

You must maintain unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment to apply. Employer sponsored work rights are not available for this appointment.
