Student Assistant – Clinic Assistant, Well-being Center

Position Summary

The Student Assistant – Clinic Assistant provides direct supportive patient care to eligible patients in the clinic at University Health Center and the Well-being Center under the direction of nurses and clinicians. This position works closely with and collaborates with nurses, clinicians, patients, and families to support the clinic team.

Duties/Responsibilities

Patient Care (60%)

• Provides care to patients within scope of practice
• Directly assists clinicians and nurses in treating patients.
• Obtains chief complaint, brief history, appropriate vital signs, current medications, and allergies.
• Documents patient information clearly and accurately.

Inventory (20%)

• Monitors and maintains clinic supplies, equipment and exam rooms.

Administrative Duties (20%)

• Provides clerical and secretarial support for clinic functions as needed to facilitate patient flow.
