Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a federal work study student in the Physics and Astronomy department on the Dahlonega campus. This position would be responsible for minor office duties (making copies, filing paperwork, scanning documents, answering phone calls, etc.). This position will also assist with physics and astronomy lab organization and/or set-up.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting department faculty and staff with office/clerical duties.
  • Assisting with department organizational efforts in labs, classrooms, and departmental office.
  • Assist with answering student questions and phone calls.
  • May be asked to assist with lab set-up.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Knowledge of the operation of office equipment (copiers, telephone, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of physics lab equipment.
  • Knowledge of shop tools is preferred but not required.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
