Student Assistant - Orientation Leader
Job Summary
This is a 19.5 hours per week maximum, part-time student position. This position requires employees who are able to positively represent this Office and the College to various internal and external constituents with a positive and professional demeanor at all times
The primary role of the Orientation Leader is to provide guidance to new, incoming students and their families by facilitating activities at the New Student Orientation. The Orientation Leader is assigned a group of students and will work with that group of students throughout the day through ice breakers, campus tours, and presentations. Orientation Leaders serve as role models and help students make the successful transition to college life.
This position is designated by the institution as a Campus Security Authority (CSA).
The weekly schedule will be assigned by the supervisor in conjunction with the student’s class schedule. The work schedule is subject to change between semesters or as needed. Students are not to work during scheduled class time, even if class is cancelled or dismissed early.
Responsibilities
- Lead group activities to welcome new students to the College, encourage interaction among students in the group, and teach them about College resources
- Assist with special projects
- Perform any related work as required
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
- Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at all times
- Minimum institutional GPA of 2.5
Other Required Qualifications
- May not be employed in more than one job at a time on campus
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Experience
- Valid drivers license to operate a campus golf cart
