Student Assistant - Richards College Marketing Department, Graduate Level

Job Summary

  • Administrative Support (30%): Staff the front desk, manage scheduling, assist with correspondence, and maintain accurate records for the department.
  • Tutoring and Academic Support (20%): Lead tutoring sessions or study groups for undergraduate students in relevant business courses, enhancing student comprehension and success.
  • Research Assistance (20%): Support faculty research efforts, including conducting literature reviews, collecting data, and performing data analysis.
  • Event Coordination (10%): Assist in the planning and organization of workshops, seminars, and conferences hosted by the College of Business, ensuring smooth execution and participant engagement.
  • Special Projects (10%): Contribute to projects and initiatives that advance the College's and department's mission, supporting both short- and long-term goals.
  • Other Duties as Assigned (10%): Undertake additional tasks to support College and department objectives as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Be enrolled full-time in a UWG graduate program
  • Hold a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Meet the requirements to be eligible for employment in the US.
  • Possess strong computer skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Display strong writing and grammar skills
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

Physical Requirements/ Working Conditions

  • Work is predominantly performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.
  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects.
  • Must have the ability to walk short distances, to deliver and pick up materials.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a Richards College graduate program
  • Earned a Bachelor's degree.
  • Be enrolled full-time in a UWG graduate program during the assistantship period.
  • Possess strong computer skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Display strong writing and grammar skills
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Prior experience in academic support or research.
  • Familiarity with CourseDen or similar learning management systems.
  • Interest in marketing, teaching, or academic research.
