Nature & Purpose of Position:
The SHSU Workforce Ready Kats Program (Community Work-Study) is seeking work-study eligible College of Education students.
This program is designed for you to be immersed in a public school campus experience and learn what it means to work in a public school environment. This work-based learning opportunity will connect you with a network of teachers and administrators at Mance Park Middle School in Huntsville, Texas. You will develop career skills for your resume and contribute to the public good.
Workforce Ready Kats Huntsville ISD Program is an OFF-CAMPUS position, meaning you will work at Mance Park Middle School. This is not an on-campus job, so you will need a reliable form of transportation to be able to work on-site at the school location.
Other Requirements for the Position:
The placement requires you to:
- Be a full-time, degree-seeking student and meet Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements.
- Be willing to work for HISD for at least one academic semester.
- Work a minimum of 10 hours per week.
- Have your own form of reliable transportation to Mance Park Middle School: 1010 8th St, Huntsville, TX 77320.
- Participate in all of the mandatory WRK program’s professional development sessions.
- Be reliable, flexible, professional, and eager to learn.
