Summary of Position
The Student Inclusion and Diversity Coordinator resides within Student Life and advances an inclusive, welcoming, and affirming campus climate for all students. This position plans, implements, and assesses high-impact cultural trainings, educational programs, and workshops that promote diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and accessibility(DEIBA). The Coordinator develops and delivers student leadership training grounded in DEIBA and social justice principles, supporting students in learning, practicing, and applying these skills in their academic, personal, and future professional endeavors.
This role collaborates with campus partners and community organizations to design and deliver programs that build cultural competency, celebrate diverse identities, promote cross-cultural understanding, and strengthen students' sense of belonging. The Student Inclusion and Diversity Coordinator serves as a resource to student clubs and organizations, mentoring student leaders and supporting leadership development through an equity-centered lens. This position assesses student needs, evaluates program effectiveness using participation data and feedback, and uses results to inform continuous improvement, communication, and reporting.
The Coordinator oversees student-centered spaces, including the Multicultural Center and LGBTQIA+ Center, ensuring these environments remain safe, affirming, and inclusive. This position hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates student employees who support daily operations and programming within the Centers. This role also manages assigned budgets and administrative responsibilities, participates in College meetings and committees, and collaborates across the institution to advance student inclusion, equity, and belonging.

- Leading and facilitating DEIBA-centered trainings and educational programs for diverse student populations
- Designing, assessing, and improving programs using data, feedback, and continuous improvement practices
- Managing multiple priorities, student employees, and shared spaces with organization, accountability, and attention to detail
Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of DEIBA training and programming.
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to create and meet deadlines, manage appointments, manage multiple priorities, keep work organized, and plan, prioritize, and achieve goals with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, review, and generate reports.
- Knowledge of budget management and fiscal accountability.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital marketing/graphics tools.
- Ability to work primarily from the Lakewood campus with occasional hours at the Arvada campus, including some evenings and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in education, sociology, leadership and organizational development, gender studies and ethnic studies or related field or equivalent relevant education and/or experience.
- Two years of experience in DEIBA program coordination, event planning, and diversity education, or a closely related area.
- One year of experience working with and supporting diverse student populations.
- One year of experience in facilitation of trainings, workshops, or seminars.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in higher education, college student personnel, counseling, gender and ethnic studies or a related field.
- Experience working with students and an understanding of student development theory are highly desirable.
Physical & Cognitive Demands The following are some of the physical and cognitive demands commonly associated with this position.
- Occasionally moves, positions, and transports files and office materials weighing up to 10 lbs.
- This is largely a sedentary role. This position operates in an office environment and constantly uses a computer, and routinely uses standard office equipment including phones, copiers, etc.
- The person in this position constantly communicates with internal and external constituents and students. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Cognitive demands include comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, synthesizing, negotiating, communicating, instructing, and interpersonal skills.
Starting Salary Starting salary range for this position is $59,524-$65,476 annually, commensurate with education and experience. This is a full-time, FLSA-exempt position. This position has been exempted from the State Classified System.
