Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a federal work study student in the Center for Student Engagement & Leadership department on the Dahlonega campus. The Student Organization Assistants in the Center for Student Engagement and Leadership assist with day-to-day operations within the office and assist with event set-ups/ breakdowns of student organizations. This position is often the first point of contact for patrons of the Building and supports student organizations and/or departmental events occurring in the evening and during weekends.
Responsibilities
- Serves as receptionist for the office by answering phones, greeting guests, and assisting patrons
- Provides clerical support for staff members in the department.
- Serves as the point of contact for all evening and weekend shifts to assist with reservations, set-ups, and securing the building at the end of their shift.
- Assists the Department with student organization reservations through the event management system and UNG Connect.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Ability to work with moderate supervision and demonstrate personal initiative.
- Must be able to repeatedly lift and squat 25+ lbs. to set up and move event equipment like tables and chairs.
- Knowledge of UNG Connect preferred.
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
Required Qualifications
- Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
