James Cook University is now seeking a dynamic individual to join our team in the exciting role of Student Placement Coordinator.

  • Full-time; continuing role
  • Based at Townsville Bebegu Yumba campus
  • HEWL 6: $90,821 - $98,369 per annum plus up to 17% employer superannuation contributions.

ABOUT THE ROLE

A key focus of the role is on fostering strong relationships with external organisations, industry partners, and placement providers to deliver positive and measurable student placement outcomes. You'll ensure compliance with relevant governance frameworks and accreditation requirements, and be responsible for the ongoing establishment and maintenance of host agreements. The disciplines that this role supports may vary, however, it will involve the sourcing of placements Australia wide.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

With a relevant degree qualification, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and/or training, you bring administrative expertise, ideally with experience working in the higher education sector. Experience in managing high-level sensitive issues, adhering to policy and procedural guidelines is also a skill required to succeed in this role. Effective problem solving and organisation skills are key as you’ll be juggling shifting priorities and conflicting deadlines, as are excellent communication and interpersonal skills for delivering customer-centric service. As a valuable team player, you work well both independently and collaboratively in a high-volume environment. Additionally, demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe will be essential for navigating the technological landscape seamlessly.
