Position Summary
The Department of Surgery is looking for a Student Research Worker (CU Student). Incumbent will perform multiple assignments under direct supervision.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with our engineer to design and model components using CAD software.
- Research and utilize optical pathways to direct light from the light cord onto the surgical field.
- Conduct research and development to compare the intensity and illumination of our device with current surgical headlights.
- Conduct research on the video recording devices to seamlessly integrate into the surgical workflow.
- Contribute to the software development for embedded systems and explore cloud storage solutions for video recordings.
- Ensure compatibility of the device with standard sterilization processes.
- Support the compliance with regulatory standards and certifications.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalency certificate.
- Technical training or equivalency, and 6 months of related laboratory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in CAD software for product design and modeling.
- Basic knowledge of software development for embedded systems.
- Familiarity with cloud storage solutions for video recording.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical or biomedical engineering.
Other Requirements
- Background in Physics or Optics is required.
