Job Summary
The Pathway and Transfer Center is seeking a Coordinator I/II/ III in Student Services. The individual in this position will coordinate Auburn’s dual-enrollment program procedures and facilitate requests from students, faculty, and campus partners regarding dual-enrollment and pathway programs. This position is highly team-oriented and involves a mix of student support, outreach, and records management.
Essential Functions
- Respond to questions from stakeholders interested in the programs, including students, parents, counselors, faculty, and campus partners.
- Manage onboarding and student tracking for dual enrollment; enroll students in the Canvas orientation course upon acceptance; and maintain orientation course content and grading.
- Strengthen outreach efforts for dual enrollment and pathway programs; attend and present at recruiting events for these programs;
- Advise a caseload of dual enrollment students, proactively checking on students’ progress and participation in courses; refer students to academic resources as needed; and assist students with course selection for future terms.
- Implement and contribute to improvements in processes and communications.
- Understand and consider the repercussions of business processes and their downstream effects across the campus.
Minimum Qualifications
Level I: Bachelor’s degree in no specific discipline and 0 years of experience
Level II: Bachelor’s degree in no specific discipline and 2 years of experience in advising and/or coordinating student services or experience related to the specific academic area
Level III: Bachelor’s degree in a discipline appropriate to the position plus 4 years of relevant experience.
Substitution allowed for Experience: When a candidate has the required education, but lacks the required experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement, at a rate of one (1) year relevant education per year of required experience.
Minimum Skills and Abilities
The successful candidate should be very comfortable working with students and families, presenting to groups, providing excellent customer service while multitasking, and proactively solving problems. Being comfortable working in a fast-paced, public environment is key. The individual should also work well in a team, with exceptional attention to detail, the ability to prioritize, strong organizational and analytical skills, patience, strong interpersonal and written communication skills, and a commitment to an inclusive and diverse campus environment.
Desired Qualifications
- Enthusiasm for working with students and families; professionalism; initiative; knowledge of FERPA; experience with a Student Information System (preferably BANNER); proficiency in computer software applications such as Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook; and an excellent work ethic.
- Higher education administrative work or academic advising, customer service, outreach, or managerial work.
