Student Success Coach
Occupational Summary
The primary responsibility of the Student Success Coach (SSC) is to serve as the designated point of contact for students throughout their academic journey, providing proactive, holistic, and data-informed support that promotes persistence, retention, and timely graduation. The Student Success Coach builds sustained relationships with students from enrollment through completion.
Role and Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary success contact for an assigned caseload of students from orientation through graduation.
- Provide comprehensive academic advising regarding degree requirements, academic standing, course selection, institutional policies, and program progression.
- Conduct structured and proactive outreach at key academic milestones.
- Utilize predictive analytics, student success technologies, and early-alert systems to identify risk indicators and initiate timely intervention.
- Coach students on academic habits, time management, goal-setting, accountability, and strategies that support sustained academic momentum.
- Monitor student progress and intervene when barriers to persistence arise.
- Coordinate referrals and collaborate with campus partners.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Minimum of three years of progressively responsible professional experience in student services, academic advising, success coaching, student engagement, or related higher education roles required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required, Master’s degree preferred.
- Bilingual highly preferred.
