We are looking for an experienced Student Wellbeing Services Coordinator, Mental Health, to provide non-therapeutic psycho-social mental health interventions to a caseload of students experiencing mental health diagnoses. This role sits within the multi award-winning Student Wellbeing Service which offers support and guidance to students with mental, physical and learning needs.

The ideal applicant will be able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge and experience of working with mental health presentations, interventions, and statutory services. You will have previous experiences working within a multidisciplinary team, and managed mental health caseloads before, with relevant post qualification experience. You will demonstrate initiative and maintain students’ safety and needs at the centre of your decision making.

The successful applicant will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) in the field of healthcare and will be registered with a relevant professional body for example NMC (Nursing Midwifery Council),HCPC (Body for Occupational Therapists or SWE (Social Work England). You will be experienced in working one-to-one with a diverse range of people, who have a range of support needs. You will be skilled in mental health risk assessment and crisis management. You will have excellent communication skills, organisational skills, together with the ability to respond rapidly and work under pressure when required.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated, adaptable with the ability to manage a high case load at peak times. You will have a commitment to following professional code of conduct and to continued professional development, in line with the changing needs of students and the service.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 therefore the successful candidate will be subject to an Enhanced Data and Barring Service check.
