Job Description
This position will be the campus expert on the study abroad program. This position will be a liaison between faculty and students who are involved in study abroad programs or are wanting to be involved in the programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with assigned academic departments to identify and promote specific study abroad opportunities for students in various majors
- Effectively track study abroad advising appointments, staff advising workloads, and help make data informed decisions
- Partner with faculty leaders and academic departments to actively recruit students for assigned faculty-led programs
- Coordinate and oversee the advising processes for exchange, direct enroll, and affiliated study abroad programs for undergraduate and graduate students in an assigned geographical region
- Coordinate visa processing for students studying on assigned programs; represent Missouri S&T to foreign embassies and consulates and visa processing agencies as needed
- Provide administrative and logical support, oversee the re-entry and manage the post-study abroad program evaluation process
- Work with faculty members overseas and international partners to design, coordinate, and promote assigned faculty-led study abroad programs
- Promote programs, coordinate admissions and site-specific orientation process, develop budgets, and manage problems and special situations as needed
- Create and facilitate exchange programs
- Supervise and mentor student study abroad advisors
- Continuously be aware and on call to reach out to students to offer assistance when natural disasters effect the geological location of our students abroad
- Other duties as assigned
Shift
Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm; Some evenings and weekends may be required.
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Anticipated Hiring Range
The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $59,738-$65,000 annually.
Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
